Two former flyweight contenders who have moved up in weight for different reasons are on a collision course that leads to the main event of UFC Fight Night 96 on Oct 2nd.

John Dodson (18-7), a longtime top flyweight contender, meets John Lineker (28-7) in the main event of an FS1 show in Portland, Ore. at the Moda Center. Dodson is currently ranked as the No. 9 contender to champion Dominick Cruz, while Lineker is the No. 5 contender.

Both are known for punching power for their size. Dodson has knocked out five of nine UFC foes and Lineker has knocked out five of 11 foes.

Newly-crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship Middleweight titleholder Michael Bisping will make his first-ever title defence — and attempt to exact vicious revenge — against aging 185-pound rival, Dan Henderson, at the upcoming UFC 204 inside Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

It’s a rematch of the rivals’ UFC 100 bout in 2009, which Henderson won via vicious second-round knockout.

Also announced for UFC 204 is No. 6-ranked middleweight Vitor Belfort vs. Gegard Mousasi , recent title challenger and No. 8 light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux vs. honorable mention Jimi Manuwa , heavyweights Stefan Struve vs. Ruslan Magomedov, lightweights Adriano Martins vs. Leonardo Santos, and featherweights Davey Grant vs. Damian Stasiak.

Reemption will be firmly on Luke Rockhold’s mind when the former middleweight champion headlines UFC Melbourne on Sunday November 27th.

The American will fight 36-year-old Brazilian Jacare Souza at Rod Laver Arena with the winner likely to earn a title shot. And that may well be against Rockhold’s conqueror back in June, Michael Bisping.

The Englishman knocked out Rockhold with a flurry of punches in UFC 199 to claim the title and will now face American Dan Henderson at UFC 204 in Manchester next month.
