In The Fog’ is a collection of 5 songs that exemplify Bec’s incredible range as an artist and songwriter. Title track and radio favourite ‘In The Fog, In The Flame’ opens the EP with a bang, followed by the highly stylised disco-pulses of ‘You’re A Fucking Joke’. Woozy daydreamer ‘High Tide’ is the perfect mid-point, taking the listener to a softer place with a heartfelt rendition of Roy Orbison’s ‘I Drove All Night’ and closing with the gentle melodies of ‘I Keep Running Back’.

The past couple of years have been quite a journey for the young artist. With humble beginnings busking on the streets between Wollongong and Glasgow, a fortunate meeting with fellow buskers Passenger and Stu Larsen prompted Bec to defer uni and join them on their UK tour, cementing her decision to pursue a life in music. In 2015, Bec released the Tony Buchan (Andy Bull, The Preatures) produced single (and lead track of the new EP) ‘In The Fog, In The Flame’ to an insatiable response. Shortly after, she was the winner of Triple J Unearthed, played Yours & Owls Festival, opened the stage at Newtown Festival and has toured with Little May and Half Moon Run

Andy Bull

Buy Tickets Online Now

2014 has been a stellar year for pop-auteur Andy Bull. In 2013, two self-written, self-performed, self-produced singles, Keep On Running and Baby I Am Nobody Now, both attained most-played status on Australia’s National youth broadcaster Triple J. According to global blog aggregator Hype Machine, Andy has also been amongst the most-blogged-about artists globally. Sold out shows and a US deal with Republic Records (Gotye, Lorde, etc) ensued. Two music videos, directed by Nelson Alves, have also accompanied the singles and masterfully captured the cinematic dream-logic of Bulls songwriting and production. “The feeling of the videos come from dreams where things are familiar but yet not right; vaguely frustrated and uneasy; its not a nightmare, but potentially” says Bull.

Most excitingly, Bull has created a sound and vision that are completely unique; a mix of major chords and despair, grinding analog synthesizers, stuttering drums, and hooks that are as sing-able as they are surprisingly dark. The result is a singular and exciting marriage of anxiety and beauty, rhythmic push and pull, lyrical hope and despair, and synthesized and organic production.

The inspiration, says Bull, comes precisely from “the opposing forces that are in everybody”.

His much anticipated second LP “Sea of Approval” was released on 11 July through Island Records to much praise. It’s an open and personal body of work. Andy’s distinct voice and acoustic piano is married with synthesizers, samples, glitches and vocal layering. A masterful pop artist, he produces and plays every instrument on the record.

Just Announced!

Additional artists added to Urban Jungle.
Sat 4th, Sun 5th March 2017 at The Carine.

The Carine takes Urban Jungle to the next level with several additional renowned WA artists joining the already epic line up, plus more street food vendors, a street art display and a freestyle competition!

It will bring a diverse range of Australian talent showcasing a mix of genres such as Hip Hop, Funk, Alt Rock, Soul and more!!

Headlining this Two Day Music Event will be Perth’s Hip Hop Artist DRAPHT (Saturday) & Melbourne’s singer-songwriter & muti-instrumentalist HARTS (Sunday).

With two gold records and a literal handful of ARIA nominations already under his belt, it’s no great secret that DRAPHT is a songwriting prodigy. Whether you focus on his lyrics, his melodic hooks as a songwriter Drapht can pretty much do everything. Each of his four subsequent albums – Pale Rider (2003), Who Am I (2005), Brothers Grimm (2008) and Life Of Riley (2010) – brought increasing levels of complexity and refinement, ascending Drapht to the absolute upper echelon of Australia’s stacked card of hip-hop heavyweights. Already, he is one of the greats.

HARTS, composes, produces and records his own music. his music has been described as dance-oriented alternative rock and electronic indie, blending elements of funk, post-disco, psychedelic rock, soul, new romanticism, and blues.

More recently, Harts has become known for his Hendrix-like guitar playing and blend of Funk, Pop, Rock and Soul music, which has earned praise from wide range of musicians such as Prince, Nick Littlemore and more. His voice and music also bears resemblance to that of Lenny Kravitz. Now joining Drapht, Spit Syndicate and Marksman Lloyd on Saturday will be:

MR GREVIS: It's been a long road leading to the release of a debut album for Garry McPhee - or Mr. Grevis, as he is known.. The MC has been freestyling since 16 purely for the love of it, but recently chose to release his first track "the Youth" which skyrocketed to the top of the Triple J Unearthed chart d them.

A friendship with hip hop heavyweight Drapht - who gave him his first mic - along with beats from such talented producers as Dazastah, Rob Shaker and Trials, definitely hasn't hurt the calibre of Mr. Grevis's work. But it is primarily his ability to combine strong thematic lyrics with a catchy chorus that has brought the Perth rapper his recent success.

BLUNTFIELD MC Bluntfield plays the art of hip-hop to the full extent, sharpening his tool of knowledge into his weapon of choice to combat antidisestablishmentarianism. With a theatrical eccentricity to his performance, he stands firm in his convictions, colouring his wordplay carefully while addressing a range of potent and politically-charged social issues. He draws heavily from the anti-establishment film heroes and comic legends of his 1980s childhood and his musical influences including Cypress Hill, KRS-One, Redman and spoken word poet/rapper Sage Francis.

PLUS A FREESTYLE COMPETITION! Will be held on Sat 4th March, and is open to all, but places are limited so get down early to register.

Then on Sunday, joining Harts, Andy Bull and Okenyo will be:

VDELLI Thermonuclear Indi/Rock unit VDELLI, have arrived on the world stage, on time, in form, now showcasing their unique and intoxicating new sound. Michael Vdelli (Guitar, Vocal), Leigh Miller (Bass, Vocal) and Hanser Schüler (Drums, Vocal) collectively are a perfect storm, taking all before them in their stride, with no respite in sight.

WOOLY MAMMOTH Wooly Mammoth is a 4 piece Alternative rock band from Perth, Australia. After half a year tucked away finding their sound, Wooly Mammoth emerged in mid 2016 with a pool full of telling tunes and a desire to deliver their music to Australia's live music scene. Describing their genre as electronic, Indie Rock, they are a blend of unique song-writing, explorative sounds and daring live energy. Grounded in piercing lyrics and melodies, striking instrumentals and a tenacious live show, Wooly Mammoth want their music to mean something, and want to make listeners move.

KISSTROYER... Australia's Hottest KISS Tribute Show

Not a bad days work for a group of guys who just love what they do. KISSTROYER started in 2001, formed by two brothers Andrew and Stephen Kyriacou.

On a staple diet of steady shows and more media attention than most tribute shows could ever hope for, KISSTROYER has grown into the largest touring Tribute Act in the country.

Testament to this is the much talked about stage show. Two eras of authentic KISS costumes, over 15 authentic KISS guitars, a massive functional light up KISS logo and stairs, and all the blood spitting, fire breathing, guitar smashing and smoking mayhem that has bought fame to the KISS name over the past 30 years

Classic song like I WAS MADE FOR LOVING YOU, ROCK'n'ROLL ALL NIGHT, SHANDI, SURE KNOW SOMETHING and GOD GAVE ROCK AND ROLL TO YOU are all covered in this classic KISS show.

The show is so accurate musically and theatrically that it even drew praise from "KISS great" Paul Stanley and his ROCKSTAR Band on a recent tour. Bruce Kulick gave the show the two thumbs up and seal of authenticity. The band has also been heralded in INPRESS for their great ability to not only recreate the sound and emulate the mannerism of KISS, but to also recreate the experience !

In support we have the amazingly talented SHOUT AT THE DEVIL (MOTLEY CRUE TRIBUTE)

After over a decade of making music, they’re still as thirsty as ever.

They’ve released an indie EP, which garnered triple J airplay back in 2003, three critically acclaimed studio albums, an acoustic fan favourites record entitled ‘AAA: Acoustic Anniversary Album’ and a swag of classic tracks such as “20 Good Reasons”, “Emancipate Myself”, “Someday Someday”, “Mousetrap Heart” and “In The Summertime.” Australian rock stalwarts Thirsty Merc are still excited to be making music, and hungrier than ever before to extend their legacy.

Vocalist and songwriter Rai Thistlethwayte says, “We’ve haven’t really stopped since 2002, and being around for over a decade, we’ve got lots more experience than when we started. We’ve also got still got loads of energy, and we want to harness that energy to work hard, around the clock, to continue touring and making good music.”

The band is ensuring they return to the rock roots they unleashed on their first record. “A really important element for us is going into the same headspace of where it all began, and we’re lucky enough to be working with the producer who helmed our first album, Lindsay Gravina.”

Thistlethwayte's ready to flex his songwriting muscles on the forthcoming record, and this time round, he says, his songs are “exploring life on the road, emotional honesty and about my reconciliation with the concept of love, which a very complex thing. I’ve written a lot of straight up love songs, and to be honest, I’m ready to wear my heart on my sleeve a lot more than I have on previous records.”

“We really want to tour this album to as many of our fans as we possibly can. We want to tour rural areas just as much as the regional and metropolitan areas. We want to have a solid playlist of songs, and our new album is a way of adding a strong new body of work to our existing catalogue.”

It’s been more than four decades since drummer/producer Bobby Colomby and friends assembled the first group to successfully blend rock and jazz into a genre-crossing sound and style. So successfully in fact, that the band’s second album, Blood, Sweat & Tears, topped the Billboard charts for many weeks and beat out the Beatles’ Abbey Road for the prestigious Album of the Year Grammy award. That album produced three major hit singles: “You Made me so Very Happy,” “Spinning Wheel,” and “And When I Die.”

But now Colomby is looking for much more as he develops Blood Sweat & Tears into a contemporary voice, one that reaches beyond a single, nostalgic audience.

“I no longer want to target just one generation. That would be a mistake. With this updated version, I want this band to gain recognition with a wider audience. I want people of all ages to experience what this music has to offer.

Will Blood, Sweat & Tears have any of the original members?

“Not a chance,” says Colomby. The last member to leave the band from the first album in 1977. I think of this band like baseball’s Yankees. “When you’re at a Yankee game you’re not going to see Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle or Lou Gehrig. What you do come to expect is a team of top-notch players upholding a tradition of winning. That’s the Yankee legacy. It what people expect from BS&T as well… brilliant musicians, singers, songs and arrangements.

Towards that end, Blood, Sweat & Tears will perform their hits with spirit and enthusiasm, as if it was their first performance of those songs. The band will also introduce some new elements into every performance, including a segment devoted to “Songs We Wish We Had Recorded,” done in classic B,S & T style.

Bobby Colomby’s enthusiastic comments underscore his excitement about the future. The arrival of this latest version of Blood, Sweat & Tears is the next chapter in a musical tale that stretches from the creativity and turbulence of the late ‘60s to the swiftly changing world of the 21st Century. The next invigorating phase in the continuing adventures of B, S & T is about to begin.

Aussie rock n blues are undeniably world class. We’ve brought together not only some of the best WA blues gods, but are thrilled to announce our interstate bands; VIC’s international legends DALLAS FRASCA, who will be playing music from their recent Top 10 album ‘Love Army’, and lively young road-tripping upstarts THE SWAMP STOMPERS from NSW.

We are ecstatic to have Aria award winning blues legend DAVE HOLE, as well as funk-blues-rock icons VDELLI, fresh from their epic adventures in Europe. OLD BLOOD play blues with the confidence, skill and swagger of musicians twice their age, with the vigour and passion of the youths that they are. Local Westralian TOBY oozes charisma, and will slay you with her vocal chords. If you haven’t got your boogie on yet, watch out for rock n roll dance party explosion THE SOUTHERN RIVER BAND.

As if that wasn’t enough, all-girl, sax-infused grunge-blues quartet The Tommyhawks will blow your minds with their driving catchy bouncy tunes. And to top it all off, we have the mesmerising Lightning Jack and world-infused party band The Barefeet Sojourns kicking off the festivities.

There's a singular line towards the middle of Troy Cassar-Daley's majestic new album, Things I Carry Around that snags you like a sprig of barbed wire.

"I live the tales that I tell."

This lies at the epicentre of what makes Troy probably this country's preeminent and most important balladeer. He writes and sings about what he knows, without frill, without varnish, with a purity that somehow makes his experiences universal.

Troy is proud to present his new album Things I Carry Around live in concert with a very intimate presentation of the songs collated for the album, which is like opening up a large suitcase and having memories and family pictures and sounds and scents and tears and laughter and heartbreak all tumble out around you; a case full of life in all its variations. The songs were inspired through the process of gathering stories, the ones Troy's fans have been waiting to hear - his own - in the book Things I Carry Around, published by Hachette Australia in August 2016.

"Telling stories has been a constant in my career for the last 30 years, and I have been told stories by my family members past and present all my life. The ones I share with you on this tour are incredibly personal and sometimes confronting for me to tell. Let's take the journey together, one on one as I reveal the Things I Carry Around. One yarn at a time."

Across his 30-year career, Troy Cassar-Daley has collected a slew of awards, including four ARIA's, 32 Golden Guitars, two APRA Song of the Year Awards, nine Deadlys and four CMAA Entertainer of the Year Awards. Troy has sold in excess of 450,000 albums and has received gold and platinum records

The Things I Carry Around tour will be an unforgettable not to be missed concert experience for Troy Cassar-Daley fans.
